The North Monterey County Condors will look to defend their home field  on Friday against the Monterey Dores at 5:00  p.m. Both teams come into the  game bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
 North Monterey County scored the most  runs they've had all season to find success  on Wednesday. They blew past Aptos 14-4.
  Shaya Baldwin was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She  tossed six innings while giving up just two earned  (and one unearned) runs off   ten  hits. Baldwin was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
 In other batting news,  Ariyah Morgan was  incredible,  getting on base  in all five of her plate appearances with a  home run, four  runs,  and two  stolen bases. She has been hot recently, having posted  at least one  stolen base the last three times she's  played.  Johana Alonzo was another key contributor,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-3.
 Meanwhile, Monterey earned  a  7-3 win over North Salinas  on Wednesday. The  victory was just what Monterey needed coming off of  an  11-0 loss in their prior  matchup.
 Like North Monterey County, Monterey also got a great game from a two-way player:  Ella Myers. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out nine batters over  seven innings while giving up just two earned  (and one unearned) runs off   eight  hits (and only one walk). Myers was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-4 with a  stolen base and  an  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Denae Lee was  incredible,  going 3-for-3 with a  home run, five  RBI,  and two  runs. Another player making a difference was  Ashley Gallagher, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-4.
 The  win  got North Monterey County back to even at 3-3-1. As for Monterey, their victory was  their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 6-2.
 Friday's   contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. North Monterey County has hit smart this season,  having  averaged  an OBP of .500. However, it's not like Monterey struggles in that department as   they've  averaged .446. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
 North Monterey County came out on top in a nail-biter against Monterey  when the teams last played  back in May of 2023, sneaking past  8-7. Will North Monterey County repeat their success,  or does  Monterey have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
