The Triton Hawks will square off against the Orange Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Orange took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Triton, who comes in off a win.
On Tuesday, Triton needed a bit of extra time to put away Lee County. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Yellow Jackets 7-5. The game was the first time the Hawks have beaten the Yellow Jackets on their field since April 6, 2019.

Brady Wilson and Brayden Bates were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Wilson struck out seven batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Bates tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2025. At the plate, Wilson went 1-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI, while Bates went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alan Hinson, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2025. Chase Sewell was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
Orange couldn't beat Southeast Alamance on Tuesday even though they stacked five runs on them in the third inning. The Panthers fell just short of the Stallions by a score of 11-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Panthers have suffered since March 7, 2025.
Like Triton, Orange also got a great game from a two-way player: J. P. Rodio. On the mound, he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Rodio was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Mason Bullard was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
Triton has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 runs this season. As for Orange, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
