After flying high against the Poplarville Hornets on Tuesday, the Bay Tigers came back down to earth. Bay fell 54-42 to St. Patrick on Friday. While losing is never fun, Bay can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 263rd, while St. Patrick is ranked 122nd).
Matt Krass was his usual excellent self, scoring 28 points for St. Patrick. The match was Krass' 13th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Triplett, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.
Bay's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for St. Patrick, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-4.
Bay will be home for the holidays to greet Pascagoula at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pascagoula will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak. St. Patrick won't have much time to rest: their next match is against West Jones at 3:00 p.m. on December 16th. West Jones has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 194 points over their last three contests.
