Softball Recap: Saturday's Win Is Reed's 13th in Last 14 Outings

Reed won against Reno last Thursday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. The Raiders never let the Douglas Tigers get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory. Considering the Raiders have won 11 games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Hayley Noble made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs and five RBI while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Breanna Staats was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Kehaulani Tambaoan was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4.

Reed was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .571. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matches.

Reed has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-3-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Douglas, with the defeat, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 16-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Reed beat the Tigers by a score of 12-2 later that day.
