The Central Heights Vikings entered their tilt with the Osawatomie Trojans with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Central Heights took down Osawatomie 50-35 on Monday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Central Heights also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Osawatomie lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jasper Sallee, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds. It was the first time this season that Sallee pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kail Calderwood, who scored six points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Central Heights has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 6-9 record this season. As for Osawatomie, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central Heights won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Northern Heights at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. Northern Heights is coming into the matchup with three straight defeats at home, meaning Central Heights will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory. As for Osawatomie, they will head out on the road to face off against Santa Fe Trail at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
