The DuBois Beavers are taking a road trip to challenge the Clarion Area Bobcats at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. DuBois will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
While DuBois didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They won by a run and slipped past Punxsutawney 2-1. The two-run effort marked the Beavers' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

DuBois' win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Trey Wingard, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run. That's the most hits Wingard has posted since back in April of 2024.
Clarion Area came out on top against North Clarion on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive 11-run first inning. The Bobcats were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Wolves. The victory continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Wolves: they've now won five in a row.
Clarion Area let Derek Smail and Noah Harrison run wild. Smail went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Harrison went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that Smail has launched this season. Billy Kahle was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.
Clarion Area always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .655. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Clarion Area's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for DuBois, their record now sits at 8-1.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. DuBois hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .325. However, it's not like Clarion Area struggles in that department as they've averaged .344. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
DuBois couldn't quite finish off Clarion Area when the teams last played back in April of 2024 and fell 10-8. Can the Beavers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
