Softball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Hesston's 11th in Last 14 Outings

Hesston won the last time they faced Herington and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Swathers were the clear victors by a 19-4 margin over the Railroaders. The result was nothing new for the Swathers, who have now won ten matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Hesston got a massive performance out of Elyse Griffin, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. That's the most RBI Griffin has posted since back in May of 2024. Emma Gudeman also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Hesston hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in 18 consecutive contests.

Hesston has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.4 runs over those games. As for Herington, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Looking ahead, Hesston will be playing at home against Haven at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Swathers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Herington does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
