This season hasn't been kind to The Runge Yellowjackets, who are still winless after their 13th matchup. They were beaten by Victoria Cobra HomeSchool 46-0 on Friday. While losing is never fun, Runge can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 1194th, while Victoria Cobra HomeSchool is ranked 54th).
Victoria Cobra HomeSchool's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Phoenix Robertson , who rushed for 105 yards and a touchdown on only five carries. Another player making a difference was Maverick Robertson, who rushed for 43 yards and two touchdowns.
Runge's defeat was their 12th straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-13. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 9-0 Sunnybrook Christian and 8-0 Tribe W (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 59.2% over those games). As for Victoria Cobra HomeSchool, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
Runge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Victoria Cobra HomeSchool will head out on the road to face off against Tribe W at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Tribe W is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
