Trevor Lawrence, ranked the No. 2 recruit overall from the class of 2018 by 247Sports composite, is within within 631 yards and 16 touchdowns of breaking Deshaun Watson's career Georgia high school passing records.
On Friday, Lawrence completed 16-of-23 passes for 308 yards and five touchdowns leading the 6-0 Hurricanes to a 55-6 win over Central (Carrollton).
For the season, the floppy-haired 6-foot-5, 205-pounder has completed 91 of 128 for 1,848 yards and 20 touchdowns. He's thrown just one interception.
For his career, Lawrence has thrown for 12,447 yards and 140 touchdowns, which is just short of the career totals of Watson, who set Georgia records at Gainesville (Ga.) with 13,077 passing yards and 155 touchdowns.
Lawrence has committed to Clemson, the alma mater of Watson, who on Sunday passed for 283 yards and four touchdowns for the Houston Texans in a 57-14 win over Tennessee. Watson has passed for 584 yards and six touchdowns his last two games since being names the Texans' starter.
Watson told MaxPreps in July he would be happy if Lawrence broke all his records. "All records are meant to be broken," Watson said. "Good for him if he does it."

Trevor Lawrence threw for 308 yards and five touchdowns on Friday while playing just over half the game.
