The Jefferson Academy Jaguars suffered their biggest defeat since December 2, 2023 on Saturday. They suffered a tough 45-21 loss at the hands of Colorado Academy. Jefferson Academy has not had much luck with Colorado Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Jefferson Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Sofia Pathak, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds, and Elsa Nygren who scored four points along with six rebounds and two steals. Nygren hasn't dropped below two steals for nine straight games.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Jefferson Academy struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Colorado Academy racked up ten assists.
Anna Johnson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Colorado Academy, scoring 14 points along with three steals. Johnson has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Winnie Fenton, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Jefferson Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Colorado Academy, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 9-4.
Jefferson Academy will head out on the road to face off against Forge Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Forge Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 last Thursday. As for Colorado Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Eagle Ridge Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Eagle Ridge Academy is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
