Providence has gone a perfect 10-0 against East Mecklenburg recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. Providence will head out to challenge East Mecklenburg at 5:30 p.m. Providence knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past nine matches -- so hopefully East Mecklenburg likes a good challenge.
Last Thursday, Providence made easy work of A.L. Brown and carried off a 12-4 victory. Considering the Panthers have won ten contests by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Sophie Strugar made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over 4.1 innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-5.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ella Lamprey, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Pheonix Scott also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Providence was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .321 or higher in ten consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for East Mecklenburg's offense. They lost 10-0 to Charlotte Catholic on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 23 runs in the game before, the Eagles' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
East Mecklenburg saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Geneva Garvais, who went 1-for-2 with one double.
Providence's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for East Mecklenburg, they now have a losing record of 5-6.
Tuesday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Providence has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .532. However, it's not like East Mecklenburg struggles in that department as they've averaged .513. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Providence took their win against East Mecklenburg in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Providence since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
