Sheboygan Falls is 2-8 against Roncalli since May of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Falcons are taking a road trip to challenge the Jets at 4:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Having struggled with 12 defeats in a row, Sheboygan Falls turned things around against Oostburg on Saturday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Flying Dutchmen a 15-0 shutout. That looming 15-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Falcons yet this season.
Abby Kanios was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Chloe Thill, who went 3-for-4 with seven RBI, three runs, and one triple. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lola Claerbout, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with three runs.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Roncalli). They put the hurt on Mauston with a sharp 17-1 victory on Saturday.
Like Sheboygan Falls, Roncalli also got a great game from a two-way player: Madison Lamers. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Lamers was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Roncalli let Jenna Ewen and Megan Lamers run wild. Ewen went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run, while Lamers got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. Those hits were Ewen's first of the season. Madison Keller was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
Roncalli always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .683. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Roncalli's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-10. As for Sheboygan Falls, the victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 3-13.
Sheboygan Falls couldn't quite finish off Roncalli in their previous meeting back in April and fell 2-0. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
