The Griffin Bears were the 35-16 winner over the Howard Huskies when they last played one another back in October of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Griffin took a 28-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of Howard on Thursday. Griffin's loss continues a unfortunate trend for the team, making it four in a row.
Leading Howard to victory were Jacolbie Allen and Ethan Ellington. Allen rushed for 80 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries, while Ellington rushed for 41 yards and three touchdowns.
Griffin's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Howard, their victory bumped their record up to 4-4.
Griffin will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Baldwin at 7:30 p.m. on November 3rd. As for Howard, they will head out on the road to face off against West Laurens at 7:30 p.m. on October 27th. West Laurens is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
