After both having extra time off, the Tradition Prep Pirates and the Centennial Eagles will shake off the rust and duke it out at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Tradition Prep's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Thursday. They put the hurt on Port St. Lucie with a sharp 13-0 victory. The matchup marked the Pirates' most dominant win of the season so far.

Pablo Almonte made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. He also allowed no hits, which is notable because Tradition Prep is undefeated when he allows at most one hit, but 1-5 otherwise. Almonte was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Aliet Garcia was a standout: he scored two runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Sebastian Garcia, who scored three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Tradition Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Centennial won against John Carroll Catholic last Wednesday with three runs and they decided to stick to that run total again last Friday. Centennial sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over Port St. Lucie. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Jaguars recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Yariel Rodriguez looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
At the plate, Centennial saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Peyton Salerno, who scored a run while going 1-for-4. Darren Ochoa was another, scoring a run while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.
Tradition Prep is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. Centennial's record is now 9-6.
Centennial's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Tradition Prep hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .335. It's a different story for Centennial, though, as they've only averaged .229. Will they be able to contain Tradition Prep's hitters?
Tradition Prep suffered a grim 13-1 defeat to Centennial in their previous matchup back in February. Can Tradition Prep avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
