It was a good run, but the Lake Mead Academy Eagles unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Friday. They fell to White Pine 46-41. Lake Mead Academy found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and post nine fewer assists than your opponent.
Despite the loss, Lake Mead Academy still got an impressive performance from Aliyah Harris, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Hailey Newton, who scored six points along with ten rebounds and two blocks.
Leading White Pine to victory were Brenley Skadburg and Paityn Lawrence. Skadburg scored nine points along with seven steals, while Lawrence scored 20 points along with six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lawrence has scored all season. Layla Ruesch was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with three steals.
Lake Mead Academy's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-4. As for White Pine, the win got them back to even at 12-12.
