Basketball Recap: Alex Kochara's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Northern Bedford County over Forbes Road

If Northern Bedford County was feeling good fresh off their 61-38 takedown of Southern Fulton last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Northern Bedford County Panthers took a 78-60 bruising from Forbes Road on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 676th, while Forbes Road are ranked 298th).

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Alex Kochara, who went 6 for 13 on his way to 16 points. Kochara is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Wesley Horsh was another key player, putting up 14 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds.

Northern Bedford County's loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Forbes Road, their record now sits at 14-3.

Northern Bedford County will face off against Tussey Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Forbes Road, they and Claysburg-Kimmel will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday without much rest having both just played.
