The Taft Greyhounds have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 27 points or more this season. They blew past San Isidro, posting a 82-43 victory at home. The victory was familiar territory for Taft who now have eight in a row.
It was another big night for Jordan Villalobos, who scored 35 points along with five rebounds and three steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Taft's points. David Davis was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 20 rebounds.
Taft has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. As for San Isidro, they bumped their record down to 7-13 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Taft will take on George West at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully George West focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Tuesday. As for San Isidro, they will be playing at home against McMullen County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. McMullen County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than San Isidro in Texas (McMullen County is ranked 733rd, while San Isidro is ranked 1526th).
