Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Ellie Khreish and Addison Betker Lead Racine Park to Victory

Racine Park hadn't done well against Franklin recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Racine Park Panthers walked away with a 67-59 victory over the Franklin Sabers. While the Panthers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Leading Racine Park to victory were Addison Betker and Ellie Khreish. Betker dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds, while Khreish dropped a double-double on 22 points and 13 boards. With that strong performance, Khreish is now averaging an impressive 15.9 points per game. Another player making a difference was Madison Gomez, who posted six points.

When it comes to explaining why Franklin lost, don't look at Brenna Nichols. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds. Taylor Truong was another key player, putting up 11 points and eight rebounds.

Racine Park's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.5 points per game. As for Franklin, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-6.

Racine Park wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 59-45 victory against Burlington on the 14th. As for Franklin, they will head out to face off against Wauwatosa West at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Franklin is facing Wauwatosa West at the right time seeing as Wauwatosa West is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
