The Onaga Buffaloes's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They fell 52-45 to Linn. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Onaga of the 59-45 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture last Saturday.
Despite the loss, Onaga still got an impressive performance from Konnor Nider, who scored 23 points along with five steals. That was a full 51.1% of Onaga's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Jackson Kolterman was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Even though they lost, Onaga were working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Onaga's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Linn, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Onaga will take on Hanover at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hanover presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Onaga in Kansas (Hanover is ranked 75th, while Onaga is ranked 313th). As for Linn, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Blue Valley at 12:00 p.m. on January 27th.
