The Clearview Clippers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They fell 58-50 to Brookside. While losing is never fun, Clearview can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 692nd, while Brookside is ranked 332nd).
When it comes to explaining why Clearview lost, one person who can't be blamed is Keith Colvin. Despite the final result, he scored 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashton Noble, who scored six points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Clearview dropped their record down to 3-9 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Brookside, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clearview won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Columbia at 2:30 p.m. on January 27th. As for Brookside, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Westlake at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Westlake focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Friday.
