The contest between them and Boyd Christian wasn't particularly close, with Franklin Road Christian falling 65-51. Franklin Road Christian found out winning isn't easy when you're outrebounded 18 to 11 on offense.
When it comes to explaining why Franklin Road Christian lost, one person who can't be blamed is Gracie Tidwell. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds. Tidwell has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last 12 times she's played. Presley Applegate was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Boyd Christian was led to victory by Brooke Kesey and Krista Chisam. Kesey almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds, while Chisam scored 19 points along with six rebounds and five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Chisam has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Paige Sweeten, who scored four points along with eight assists and four steals.
Franklin Road Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 21-5. As for Boyd Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-12 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Franklin Road Christian will take on the Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Boyd Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
