Baseball Recap: Pioneer Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Pioneer had lost four games straight , but after bumping their record up to 6-6 on Wednesday that streak is in the rearview. Everything went their way against the Iroquois Redhawks as they made off with a 7-1 victory. Considering the Panthers have won four matchups by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

As for Iroquois, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 9-1 and their overall record down to 10-2. The game marked their lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

For Iroquois' part, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alexander Yandricha, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Yandricha is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games he's played.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Pioneer is set to challenge their familiar foe Depew at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Iroquois will square off against rival Maryvale at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Redhawks have won six straight at home, while the Flyers won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
