Lowell took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by an 11-5 margin over the East Kentwood Falcons. The win was familiar territory for the Red Arrows, who have now won five contests in a row dating back to last season.
Lowell got a great performance from Caden Witten as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over five innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Blake Sitzer was incredible, scoring three runs while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Logan Dawson, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4.
Lowell was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as East Kentwood only posted a batting average of .185.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lowell will welcome Saranac at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for East Kentwood, they will host Zeeland West at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. East Kentwood has now lost eight straight dating back to last season, leaving the team hunting for their first win since May 18.
