The Indian Creek Braves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 34 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Edgewood 78-35 at home. The win was familiar territory for Indian Creek who now have six in a row.
Indian Creek's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ayla Lollar, who scored 16 points along with six steals. Those six steals set a new season-high mark for her. Lauren Foster was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Despite the defeat, Edgewood saw an underclassman step up: Macey Crider scored 13 points along with six rebounds.
Indian Creek's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.4 points per game. As for Edgewood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Indian Creek won't have much time to rest: their next game is against North Putnam at 6:00 p.m. on December 16th. North Putnam is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak. Edgewood will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on North Decatur at 10:00 a.m. on December 29th.
