There's no place like home for the Millard West Wildcats, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Saturday. They secured a 49-44 W over Westview on Tuesday. That's another feather in the cap for Millard West, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Millard West to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cooper Fortune, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Reece Carson, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Westview lost, one person who can't be blamed is Tayvin Murphy. Despite the final result, he scored 22 points. Kobe Mapp was another key contributor, scoring six points along with nine rebounds.
Millard West now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Westview, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-9.
Millard West will head out on the road to square off against Creighton Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Creighton Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine games -- so hopefully Millard West likes a good challenge. As for Westview, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bryan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Bryan focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Tuesday.
