Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Tuesday, Phillipsburg beat Bridgewater-Raritan 59-52. Given Phillipsburg's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 11th, while Bridgewater-Raritan is ranked 154th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Matthew Scerbo jr., who scored 23 points along with six rebounds and two steals. He has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more points the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ameer Herran, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Bound Brook, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 76-62 loss to Hoboken on Wednesday.
Phillipsburg's win bumped their record up to 19-1. As for Bound Brook, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-8.
