Colleton County is a perfect 6-0 against Woodland since March of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Cougars will head out on the road to take on the Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. Woodland took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Colleton County, who comes in off a win.
Colleton County will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Wednesday, then bounced right back against Hilton Head Island on Friday. The Cougars were the clear victors by a 20-1 margin over the Seahawks. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won four matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Breanna Gerard made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That run marked the first that she has scored this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alexa Eversole, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Janay Manigo, who went 1-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Colleton County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2025.
Meanwhile, Woodland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 7-2 to Pinewood Prep.
Katey Westbury spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on 11 hits.
On the hitting side, Jordan Mccarthy was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one double, and one RBI.
Colleton County's victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-4. As for Woodland, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
Colleton County got the 'W' in their previous matchup on Monday against Woodland by a conclusive 11-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
