The Calhoun Red Devils scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past Van 79-38 at home. The victory was some much needed relief for Calhoun as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Calhoun had a senior duo take command as Dylan Buckius scored 22 points along with six rebounds and Landon Bennett scored 12 points along with nine steals. Bennett hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Owen Taylor, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Calhoun's win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Van, they dropped their record down to 1-8 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Calhoun will challenge Gilmer County at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Van, they will be playing in front of their home fans against River View at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
