The New Year welcomed Cranbrook Kingswood with a 80-22 whooping from Detroit Country Day on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Cranbrook Kingswood has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Cranbrook Kingswood lost, one person who can't be blamed is Yasmyn Palmer. Despite the final result, she scored 12 points. The match was Palmer's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Madeline Day, who scored five points.
Cranbrook Kingswood's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Detroit Country Day, they pushed their record up to 8-2 with that win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cranbrook Kingswood will take on Plymouth Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Detroit Country Day, they will head out on the road to face off against West Bloomfield at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West Bloomfield is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
