The Somers Spartans can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They breezed by Bolton at home to the tune of 58-31. 58 seems to be a good number for Somers as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Despite the loss, Bolton still got an impressive performance from Niya Islam, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. That was a full 54.8% of Bolton's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Abbie Gravel, who scored four points along with 17 rebounds.
The victory (which was Somers' third in a row) raised their record to 10-4. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 28.7 points. As for Bolton, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-4.
Somers will head out on the road to take on the Wildcats at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Bolton, they and the Bulldogs will face off at 6:00 p.m. on February 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
