La Serna (Whittier, Calif.) grabbed the lead when
Frankie Palmer threw a touchdown with less than a minute remaining in the fourth quarter and held on to defeat
Norwalk (Calif.) 41-38 on Saturday. The score was the final lead change in a back-and-forth contest that featured seven lead swaps.
By the end of the third, the Lancers found themselves trailing by one point as the Lancers captured the lead thanks to two scores in the quarter. Norwalk scored on a
Jacob Carr touchdown pass to
Rashaad Penny and a two-point conversion in the quarter.
NHS came in giving up 14.4 points per game this season. The Lancers struggled against La Serna's offense, which entered the game scoring 39.4 points per game.
The loss comes after Norwalk defeated Muir 35-28 last week.
