R.A. Hubbard was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to third in 1A Region 8. The Chiefs beat Vina 54-8 earlier in the week.
Hackleburg extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Phillips, 40-16. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
Hackleburg's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Dylan Gallaway threw for 14 yards and Tristan Quinn had 14 yards receiving. On the ground Kristian Jones chipped in 351 yards.
The Bears' Rodney Camp and Tyler Crumpton have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Camp has thrown for 1623 yards this season, while Crumpton, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 38 catches for 894 yards. Jones from ROD HUDSON's team leads the league in rushing with 835 yards.
Two of the top units in 1A Region 8 will face off this week when the Panthers take on Shoals Christian. Hackleburg's offense has scored 277 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while the Flame have allowed only 109 on the year.
