The Heritage Patriots lost against the Arabia Mountain Rams back in November of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Heritage fell 59-47 to Arabia Mountain. While losing is never fun, Heritage can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 330th, while Arabia Mountain is ranked 147th).
Heritage's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Armond Smith, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kirk Seeley, who scored 11 points.
Leading Arabia Mountain to victory were Joseph Smith and Julian Shanks. Smith scored 11 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 blocks, while Shanks scored 11 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals. The contest was Shanks' fifth in a row with at least ten points. Dewayne Shealey was another key contributor, scoring 8 points.
Heritage now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Arabia Mountain, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.
Heritage will be playing at home against Salem at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Salem's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. Arabia Mountain will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Villa Rica at 7:30 p.m. on December 1st.
