After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Faith Christian Academy, the Veritas Christian Eagles were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They escaped with a win against Kansas City East Christian Academy by the margin of a single free throw, 32-31. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Veritas Christian also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
It was another big night for Rachael Gaspers, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and five steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Veritas Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Nicole Gaspers, who scored two points along with 20 rebounds.
Veritas Christian's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Kansas City East Christian Academy, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.
Veritas Christian will head out on the road to face off against Faith Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kansas City East Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against The Daniel Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Daniel Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 15 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
