It was a good run, but the Bendle Tigers unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 73-67 hit to the loss column at the hands of New Standard Academy. Bendle was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as New Standard Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2021.
Bendle's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gabe Alomar, who scored 15 points along with two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Alomar has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Bingham, who scored 13 points.
Bendle's loss dropped their record down to 10-5. As for New Standard Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.
Bendle will be playing in front of their home fans against Bentley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for New Standard Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Bridgeport on Tuesday. Bridgeport comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
