The Sulphur Bluff Bears entered their tilt with the Avery Bulldogs with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Sulphur Bluff pulled ahead with a 43-42 photo finish over the Bulldogs. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Sulphur Bluff also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sulphur Bluff to victory, but perhaps none more so than Matthew Overly, who scored 18 points along with five assists and two steals. Overly hasn't dropped below two steals for 15 straight games. Another player making a difference was Dakota Klemptner, who scored 15 points along with six steals.
Sulphur Bluff is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 23-9 record this season. As for Avery, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-15.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sulphur Bluff will take on the Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Avery, they will play host again and welcome the Wildcats, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bloomburg is no doubt hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses.
