Basketball Recap: Hansberry Piles Up the Points Against Rauner

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hansberry). They claimed a resounding 47-12 win over the Rauner Wildcats. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Bengals have posted since December 13, 2023.

Hansberry was led to victory by Miyay Jordan and Terraiya Ross-Conner. Jordan dropped a triple-double on 15 points, 15 rebounds, and 11 steals, while Ross-Conner posted eight points in addition to 12 boards and five assists. With that strong performance, Ross-Conner is now averaging an impressive 2.2 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Ceniya Johnson, who put up ten points and five rebounds.

Hansberry's win bumped their record up to 2-8. As for Rauner, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Hansberry will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Muchin College Prep at 5:30 p.m. on January 8, 2025. Rauner also won't see the court for a while: their next game is against Rowe-Clark at 7:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025.
