The North Valley Christian Academy Lions are taking a road trip to square off against the Mohave Accelerated Patriots at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Mohave Accelerated took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on North Valley Christian Academy, who comes in off a win.
On Thursday, North Valley Christian Academy needed a bit of extra time to put away Pima. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Roughriders 6-5. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.
Duvuagn Pryce made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Pryce was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in March.

In other batting news, Brayden Collins was excellent, going 1-for-4 with three RBI and one double. North Valley Christian Academy is 5-1 when Collins posts three or more RBI, but 5-14-1 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Bradley, who got three hits from his four at bats.
North Valley Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Mohave Accelerated's offense. They came up short against Wickenburg on Friday, falling 8-0. The Patriots just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.
Mohave Accelerated saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tanner Picard, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.
Mohave Accelerated's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for North Valley Christian Academy, their record is now 10-15-1.
Mohave Accelerated's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: North Valley Christian Academy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .463. It's a different story for Mohave Accelerated, though, as they've only averaged .338. Will they be able to contain North Valley Christian Academy's hitters?
North Valley Christian Academy might still be hurting after the 16-0 loss they got from Mohave Accelerated in their previous matchup back in March of 2022. Can the Lions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
