The Campbell County Camels managed to keep up with the Resurrection Christian Cougars until halftime on Thursday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Campbell County ended up on the wrong side of a tough 73-49 walloping at the hands of Resurrection Christian. Campbell County found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and rack up nine fewer assists than your opponent.
Despite the loss, Campbell County still got an impressive performance from Mason Drube, who scored 20 points. Those 20 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Lane Hladky, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Resurrection Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cade Crutcher, who scored 16 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Crutcher has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jacob Barker, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
Campbell County's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Resurrection Christian, their win was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0.
Campbell County won't have much time to rest: their next game is against East at 3:45 p.m. on December 15th. East is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Resurrection Christian, they will play host again and welcome Glenwood Springs, where tip off is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. on Friday.
