The Kirby Prep Griffins were the 53-30 winner over the Trinity Christian Warriors when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Kirby Prep fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 31-28.
Despite the loss, Kirby Prep saw an underclassman step up: Chris Lively scored 18 points along with five steals. Lively hasn't dropped below 15 points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Kawasaki, who scored six points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Kirby Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Trinity Christian, their win bumped their record up to 2-6.
Kirby Prep will head out on the road to face off against the Hawks at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Trinity Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. York is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
