The Ross Rams pushed their score all the way to 57 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 61-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Aiken. While losing is never fun, Ross can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 446th, while Aiken is ranked 82nd).
Aiken's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jaiden Arnold, who scored 12 points along with six assists and four steals. Justin Hawkins was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Ross has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Aiken, they pushed their record up to 9-4 with that victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Ross will play host again and welcome Northwest, where tip off is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Northwest's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four games. As for Aiken, they will head out on the road to challenge Hughes at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hughes is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
