The Lamar Thunder will square off against The Classical Academy Titans at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Lamar is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.8 runs per game this season.
On Thursday, Lamar was able to grind out a solid victory over Bennett, taking the game 7-4. The Thunder haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Alex Williams made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up four earned runs off seven hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Lamar let Cael Buxton and Braxen Shelton run wild. Buxton went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Shelton went 1-for-2 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave Shelton a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Diego Estrada, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run.
Meanwhile, The Classical Academy has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.89 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Monday. They lost 12-4 to Discovery Canyon. The Titans have struggled against the Thunder recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.
The Classical Academy also got a good showing from Chase Rorabaugh, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched.
At the plate, Zack Hale made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double.
The Classical Academy's loss dropped their record down to 14-4. As for Lamar, their victory bumped their record up to 13-6.
Saturday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Lamar hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .370. However, it's not like The Classical Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .403. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
