Flora has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Edwards County Lions at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. Flora will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 478th, while Edwards County is ranked 224th).
Flora suffered their biggest loss since December 28, 2023 on Thursday. Their tough 39-16 defeat to Fairfield might stick with them for a while. Flora has not had much luck with Fairfield recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Meanwhile, Edwards County was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 52-47 to Carmi-White County.
Flora has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matchups, which is still a better percentage than their 6-20 record this season. As for Edwards County, their loss dropped their record down to 16-8.
Flora came up short against Edwards County in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 52-42. Can Flora avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
