Heritage Academy haven't had much luck against Heritage Academy recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. Heritage Academy will square off against Heritage Academy at 4:00 p.m. Both teams are still undefeated (Heritage Academy have 11 wins , while Heritage Academy have 16 dating back to last season).
The Heroes' pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past the Storm 10-0. The Heroes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by eight runs or more this season.
Tatum Meeker was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two hits in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. That home run was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Sarahi Rico was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Francesca Johnson, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
The Heroes were getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .480. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .417 or higher in seven consecutive games.
Meanwhile, the Heroes made easy work of the Panthers on Monday and carried off a 21-0 win. Fans of the Heroes have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.
Kenia Martin looked comfortable as she struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in February of 2024.
On the hitting side, the Heroes got a massive performance out of Zoey Wheaton, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. Payton Duncan was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2.
The Heroes' victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-0. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.6 runs over those games. As for the Heroes, their record now sits at 9-0.
Wednesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Heritage Academy have hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .667. However, it's not like Heritage Academy struggle in that department as they've averaged .776. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Heritage Academy might still be hurting after the 15-5 loss they got from Heritage Academy in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can Heritage Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
