The Maurepas Wolves will venture away from home to challenge the Central Private Redhawks at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Maurepas' pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. Everything went their way against False River as they made off with a 15-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Wolves in their matchups with the Gators: they've now won four in a row.
Sidney Lauzervich made a big impact no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Maurepas got a massive performance out of Saydie Sterling, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Sterling a new career-high. Heyli Quamme also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Maurepas always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .567. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as False River only posted an OBP of .294.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last contest, Central Private made sure to put some runs up on the board against Plaquemine on Monday. The Redhawks put the hurt on the Green Devils with a sharp 20-0 win. The game marked the Redhawks' most dominant victory of the season.
Like Maurepas, Central Private also got a great game from a two-way player: Aubrey Lane Watts. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. Watts was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Addy Brown was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, one triple, and one RBI. Avery McCartney was another key player, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with four runs and two stolen bases.
Maurepas' record is now 10-8. As for Central Private, their record now sits at 14-3.
Maurepas suffered a grim 17-7 defeat to Central Private in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Wolves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
