The North Crowley Panthers will face off against the Prosper Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as North Crowley comes in on 12 and Prosper on nine.
North Crowley extended their postseason success on Friday against Permian. They breezed by the Panthers on the road to the tune of 63-10. The result was nothing new for North Crowley, who have now won 11 matches by 22 points or more so far this season.
Chris Jimerson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 205 yards and four touchdowns on only 18 passes, while also punching in two touchdowns on the ground. Jimerson is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last four games he's played. Mason Ferguson did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 32 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, Prosper stacked a fifth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They blew past Lake Highlands 44-24. Given Prosper's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 12th, while Lake Highlands is ranked 160th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Nathan Tenbarge looked great while leading his team to the win, rushing for 157 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Robinson, who rushed for 64 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries.
Their wins bumped North Crowley to 12-0 and Permian to 7-5.
Friday's match might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. North Crowley has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 311.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Prosper struggles in that department as they've been averaging 253.3 per game. It's looking like Friday's matchup might have some serious battles in the trenches.
North Crowley lost to Prosper on the road by a decisive 35-21 margin in their previous meeting back in November of 2022. Thankfully for North Crowley, Harrison Rosar (who threw for 301 yards and five touchdowns) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
