The Forest City Foresters will face off against the Elk Lake Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Forest City lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Blue Ridge, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Wednesday's match. The Foresters blew past the Raiders 7-1 on Wednesday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Foresters as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Tj Collins made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over 5.1 innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Forest City is 2-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 0-3 otherwise. Collins was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two RBI and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Max Urbas, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. Johnny Conolgue also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Forest City was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Elk Lake came tearing into Friday's contest with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over the Eagles. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won six matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.
Like Forest City, Elk Lake also got a great game from a two-way player: Noah Gesford. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Gesford has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, three runs, and three doubles. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Logan Ayotte was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Dawson Sherman, who earned one run and two stolen bases.
Elk Lake's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.5 runs over those games. As for Forest City, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-4.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Forest City hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .314. However, it's not like Elk Lake struggles in that department as they've averaged .387. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Forest City suffered a grim 11-5 defeat to Elk Lake in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Will the Foresters have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
