Arcadia dropped their record down to 7-7 on Monday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Isle of Wight Academy Chargers, falling 17-9. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Chargers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-4 back in March.

As for Isle of Wight Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Isle of Wight Academy's part, they let Wyatt King and Jason Chapman run wild. King got on base in four of his six plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Chapman went 3-for-5 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those three hits gave Chapman a new career-high. Reed Rogers was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

Coming up, Arcadia will take on Nandua at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Isle of Wight Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Greenbrier Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Chargers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Gators have averaged an impressive 9.7 runs per game this season.
