The Marble Falls Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight defeat. They fell just short of Lampasas by a score of 41-38. The match was a 20-20 toss-up at halftime, but Marble Falls couldn't quite close it out.
Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lexie Edwards, who scored 14 points along with two blocks. That was a full 36.8% of Marble Falls' points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Leslie Reynoso was another key contributor, scoring five points along with ten rebounds.
Marble Falls' defeat dropped their record down to 7-22. As for Lampasas, their win bumped their record up to 10-22.
Marble Falls will head out on the road to challenge the Vikings at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Lago Vista is out to stop a eight-game streak of losses at home. Lampasas will take on the Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Jarrell is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
