The Leonard Lancers will take on the Royal Palm Beach Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Leonard and eight for the Wildcats.
Last Wednesday, Leonard suffered a tough 49-29 defeat at the hands of the Tigers. Leonard has struggled against the Tigers recently, as their game on Wednesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Royal Palm Beach was beaten by the Chargers 59-15 on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, Royal Palm Beach can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 508th, while the Chargers are ranked 173rd).
Leonard has not been sharp recently as the team's lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. As for Royal Palm Beach, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-13.
Things could have been worse for Leonard, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 30-16 loss to the Wildcats in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. Can Leonard avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
